We have a Poets for Peace project going, and this poem is from a friend of mine, Gloria Escobedo Delgado. Enjoy.
The wonder of it all
Upon arrival we walk to our favorite spot
As we have done so many times before
The sun with all its glory soon fades away
In its place black clouds come creeping in.
As if on a mission they’ve blown in overhead quietly and unnoticed
Instantly the sky is covered in night
In the distance shadows and sprinkles of twinkling lights
Stars, above all around then one by itself strong and bright
Some in formation as if at attention
Others – hundreds, the likeness of many loose diamonds
Delicately shimmering so very distant – lifetimes away
Before me is water as far as the eye can see
An ocean so vast so big so proud with its mighty waves
The water seems to go on forever
until into the bottom of the sky it respectfully tucks in its skirts
Choppy waves clap and flap then away they rush again
It is a windy night
The smell of salt water in the air
Out goes the shrimp clinging tightly to the hook
Destined for the perfect catch
Hello Mr. Sand trout
A golden beauty up late!
The seagull flutters by laughing dipping but not finding
He wont give up though
He knows all too well that soon he’ll get his.
Upon a happenstance I look up
What is it moving so quickly barely catching my eye
Oh wow a shooting star!
Look, darling! A shooting star!
O wait- its gone
how quickly it vanished almost as a vapor.
Then I ponder on all this beauty.
And think of the whole world of beautiful places I’ve yet to see
Alas many lifetimes could not suffice!
Looking around busied bodies about their business
Can it be true no one stops to take in the beauty
Then I wonder if per chance a person might say
That all these elements just happened per chance
Burning embers landing somewhere through flight?
In no way could one thus say!
Wait!!! Look up, look around for the very things of this earth
They testify of a Creator.
Alas, alas to no avail
No one cares to seek, to find, to know
So much beauty in life and still the word resounds in my head
The fool has said in his heart there is no God.
Awake to life, get to know the Creator, enjoy His creation
Today was My Daddy’s birthday, and he would have been 78. It felt strange not to be able to call him and gush birthday greetings, telling him all the reasons I love him. While I was so very grateful for all our chats and for the chance to get to know him and feel closer, I can’t help but to have wanted more time with him. Last year, I sent this angel to him to guard over him while he was at the nursing home, guardian angels being our thing. I sent her two day mail so he would have some holiday cheer for the Christmas season, but no one even took her out of the box for two weeks. Disappointment couldn’t even be a strong enough word for how it felt when he had to remain in a sterile white room with no holiday cheer. Finally, my brother found it and set her up on his table ; but alas, not in all her magnificence. Now she graces our tree with her elegance and protection.
This year, since I couldn’t be with him, I sat under the guardian glow of our angel, reminiscing on our fond memories of this past year, writing small clips down so as not to forget them…and calling on the legions to bring Peace and Joy to our world for this New Year 2016. In loving memory, rest in peace my daddy, and keep watching over me.
I have been blessed so much this week. My heart is full of gratitude.
#3 We got to raft the river and feel peace and calm and I heard my daughters giggling together and we “played” with each other Oar battles and water battles and just great company. I remember what it’s like to feel that peace of the river where nothings exists but the here and the now. Being present is the only thing you can do. I get to do that more often.
#2 I have a husband who loves me and honors me. He knows this week is a busy week for me. He just says, “go ahead and take care of what you need to take care. You and me are good. I’ll be here when you get back.” (Because when I go into school mode I’m in another dimension.
#1 And the best part is that after 8 months, I finally get to see my Kendra girl. Alabama is too far away sometimes. It’s hard for a mama because I went from seeing her everyday to seeing her a couple of times a year. But when she’s here, I get to love love love upon her and it feels yummy.
I have a collaboration post for this afternoon from another wonderful blogger, so stay tuned….but after that, I might be off the grid for awhile. The first two weeks of school are pretty busy. Wish me luck! ~Love ya, Marie

The World Needs:
Belief Teaches my heart that All is Possible, All is Ready Standing, Waiting upon my own Acceptance, My own Belief, my own Unfettering Faith To Set Free the wheels of the universe And Create my Heart’s Desire; Yet in this dark and weary place, Where fear crushes dreams And doubt hangs hopes, What is Remarkably Possible if often considered improbable, And Faith sits down in the shadows, her hands tied. The slippery slope of lost Hope Dashes Charisma against the rocks and shakes Vigor to the core; Compressing Life to only what is seen, felt, heard. Lost are the Whispers, Lost are the PotentPromises that Move Mountains, Lost are the Smiles of Satisfaction and Purpose. Still, even in this dark place, where Angels wait, muted by skepticism; When all is clouded o’re and dim, One Word shall Lift the Indomitable Spirit, One Affirmation will Raise the Irrepressible Soul; Shattering cynicism, Collapsing disbelief, And Building Bridges to the Unimagined.
Today when I was walking in my house I went to pick up a piece of plastic that didn’t make it into the recycling. I don’t know what it was the packaging for, but it had a piece of paper advertising stuck in it that said:
perfect
And then my dear blogging friend Rhonda, had this special music that brought me such peace. It deserves to be my meditation for awhile. His name is David Nevue. Click HERE. (The imagery is beautiful too.
And lastly, complete strangers with compassionate caring heartsdove in and shared their words, their encouragement and collective wisdom, and it was absolutely beautiful.
I am truly blessed on this first day of August. Thanks for making the world a better place…and thanks for being you!
Today is August 1st, new beginnings. for a brandy new month, my 100th POST! I was inspired with these words from a poem by Micheline,Jean Louis and she agreed to start us off! We are going to go with the anaphora (repeating phrase) as well. It keeps the message thriving!!! Happy writing.

Courage and a cheerful smile, Kind hearts that go the extra mile.
Beauty in the human heart Reflected in our work and art
Vision to prize higher goals, Love purity and long lost souls.
Minds that will meet you more than half, A good old-fashioned belly laugh.
Hope when we hang on the edge of a funnel Light at the end of the darkest tunnel
The helping hand to pull us out, Forgive, restore, remove our doubt
Triumphal music of the spheres To melt away the hurtful years
Courage to conquer Giant Despair And reflect God’s goodness everywhere.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN!!!
