“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” Ferris Bueller

A year ago in January I attended a workshop in Maui on Divine Love. It was led by Dr. Wayne Dyer and turned out to be a life changer for me. I am not surprised that this happened, afterall a couple of my life changing moments happened as a direct result of this incredible man.

This time around it was a simple sentence that seemed to resonate in my whole body. A great big A-Ha moment that left me ruminating with it for quite some time, wondering how to begin to live it. The words were a paraphrase of a Herman Melville quote and are at the root of a lot of Dr. Dyer’s teachings, but for some reason these words more than any others did the trick for me…

Throwback Thursday – A Poem with a Taste Challenge

Let’s try this again! I think this would be super awesome to read your poetry and see your culinary talents…or at least through a family recipe in. We poets are usually creative in more than one area.

texas

Okay my friends…I was inspired by a poem I read yesterday that involved the tastes of a place.   And food brings about joyous memories with friends and families and those special people we love.  So, here’s my challenge:

Write a poem about the tastes of YOUR place…and then maybe include one of your favorite recipes…it can be from that place your wrote about, or one of your favorite recipes…I think it would be really cool to gather recipes of places from around the world….Then I can wake up and say things like, I’d like to travel to Austrailia today or Georgia, and pull a recipe out and be reminded of you!   Besides, my recipe box needs new tastes!   ENJOY!

Though I live in Idaho now…my strongest memories of taste are from Texas…

So, here’s my poem:

Random thoughts on the Flavors of Texas

I’ll tell you a

half dozen things about

the flavors…

Poem – Only You

Only you

envelope me

and take me to

a heavenly place

Only you

fill my world

with a complete joy

that inspires my soul

Only you

treat me

with a tenderness

for my humanness

Only you can

take me away

from madness

to galaxies far away

With just one touch

Only you

accept me for

everything I am

wholly, deeply, truly

Only you

have my heart

for time

and all eternity.

~Namaste my love.

Bloom Where You are Planted

To my dearest friend Annie who inspired me and then to my beautiful sunflower who grew for me in a place left untended.  A gentle reminder to us all.

Gratitude and Peace and Newfound things

Today when I was walking in my house I went to pick up a piece of plastic that didn’t make it into the recycling.  I don’t know what it was the packaging for, but it had a piece of paper advertising stuck in it that said:

found art - celebrate today

perfect

And then my dear blogging friend Rhonda, had this special music that brought me such peace.  It deserves to be my meditation for awhile.  His name is   David Nevue.        Click HERE.  (The imagery is beautiful too.

And lastly, complete strangers with compassionate caring hearts dove in and shared their words, their encouragement and collective wisdom, and it was absolutely beautiful.

I am truly blessed on this first day of August.  Thanks for making the world a better place…and thanks for being you!

~Nemaste, Marie

Happiness of Being in the Moment – Throwback Thursday

me and joe

The reason I adore this photo is because it was such a genuine happiness picture.  My husband and I were truly “in the moment.”  The picture was not posed.  My friend took it when we weren’t looking.  We were at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, which I adore, and we were just happy to be with friends and eating delicious food and laughing like crazy.  They have the most awesome Green Show.  You have to see it sometime.

For a most romantic proposal and another Throwback Thursday & dialogue, go HERE.

And another romantic story HERE.  (except this one was on a Tuesday…hee hee)

P.S.  If you ever go to the festival, be sure to go to the Green Show with the Fool Squad, and brings something fun to eat for them so you can be part of the show.  Oh my, you’ll laugh forever!

I LIVE POETRY – Do You See what I see? – Beauty All around

wpid-20140728_104128

I was just waking the Boise Green Belt, when a mom and her babies crossed in front. So sad that my zoom doesn’t  zoom as much…Mommy was very calm and didn’t panic. Bikers and walkers stopped in awe.  My day was blessed. Hmmmm have a story building in my brain… sweetness with mama and babies.

This is living poetry…seeing beauty all around.
